Dwain & Misikir
January 9, 2027 · Jamaica
We’re excited to share that we’ll be getting married in Jamaica on 9 January 2027.
Final venue details are currently being confirmed, and we’ll share full travel and accommodation guidance as soon as everything is locked in.
For now, we’d love to understand who is planning to celebrate with us so we can make informed decisions around venue capacity and guest experience.

About Misikir
I work in mental health at a primary school, where I’m passionate about supporting young people, promoting social justice, and helping create inclusive, supportive environments. My own journey, being born in Ethiopia, adopted, and moving to Australia when I was young, has shaped the way I see the world and deepened my commitment to empathy, belonging, and community.
Outside of work, I love travelling and experiencing new places and cultures. I enjoy spending time with the people in my life, sharing good food, lots of laughter, and making lasting memories together.
Celebrating this special moment surrounded by everyone who means so much to us makes the day even more meaningful.
About Dwain
My name’s Dwain, as most of you already know. I was born in Bristol, UK, and spent much of my life growing up in London. I’m passionate about sport, travel, and good food — and I work in business leadership, which keeps me busy and constantly learning.
The most important thing to know about me, though, is that I come from a proud Jamaican background. My heritage means a great deal to me, and celebrating this next chapter of our lives in Jamaica feels incredibly special. I can’t wait to share it with you all.
Our Relationship
We met in 2018 while Dwain was working in Melbourne. From the very beginning, there was an instant connection — drawn together by culture, food, music, and shared values.
Not long after, life had other plans. For the next four years, we found ourselves living in different countries, seeing each other in person for just three weeks during that entire period. What could have pulled us apart instead strengthened us, proving that what we had was something real.
After COVID, Misikir moved to London to be with Dwain, giving us the chance to finally experience everyday life together — travelling through Europe, embracing new adventures, and creating lasting memories. Through distance, uncertainty, and change, the connection that began in 2018 only continued to grow.
In 2025, Dwain proposed — and our next chapter began. This celebration in Jamaica is not just a wedding, but a reflection of everything that brought us here.
